I feel great!

It started Saturday, this feeling of 100% normal! We went to the lake and stayed with friends until Monday. We had a great visit, spent lots of time outside, and my hair didn't fall out!(somehow, I thought it was going to happen this past weekend). It's been 11 days since my first chemo.

I'm sure it was only 3C with a strong North wind as a couple of us parents watched soccer last night - exciting game but c-o-o-o-o-l-d! And of course afterwards Carter wanted to go for ice cream... It's sunny today and I'm sure its going to warm up!

Now that I feel so good, Brad (my #1 caregiver) must have let his guard down, because he has been hit with the dreaded "man cold ". He was proud to have a temp of 102F to show he really did require sympathy and attention. He's a bit better today, fever's down.

Have a great day,
Beth

  2. Hi Beth,
I finally had a chance to read your blog from the start. It is a great idea and of particular interest to me as my mother will be starting chemo tomorrow at the VGH Buhler Ca Center as well. She is 70 y.o. with stage2/3 breast ca. I am glad to hear you are doing so well. Stay strong!

Hopefully we will cross paths this summer at the lake. Bye for now.

You sound great and glad to hear it.Your weekend must have been wonderful!!
I started my Chemo this morning and I am pretty green around the gills right about now. The nausea and heartburn are full force. Hopefully by morning it will be a little calmer....

  6. Hi, Beth. Glad to hear that you're doing so well. My hair did not begin to fall out until just after the third treatment, but it just kind of all 'went' at once. I cut it off on Thanksgiving morning. I just chucked my wig last weekend. It is still very short, but I just couldn't stand that wig a day longer. It is about 3/4 of an inch.

  7. Hi Beth!
I am so happy to hear you are doing so well! I attended my girlfriend's 4th treatment 3 weeks ago tomorrow (yes time for her next one)and I know it can be rough for some time afterward. She lost her hair after the second treatment but she looks just as beautiful with and without her wig(s)!You take care and I hope to see you soon! ps my girlfriend-Donna sends you her best wishes and said you are in her thoughts!

  8. It's so important to realize that every time you get upset, it drains your emotional energy.
