Tuesday - bloodwork for chemo

Went to get the bloodwork done for chemo this morning (wearing shorts and sandals, it is starting to feel like summer!) Had a nice lunch with some of the ladies from work yesterday (first public outing with my headscarf). Was okay, didn't feel like anyone even noticed. I'm busy today getting organized so I can do nothing except rest after chemo...

Have a good day everyone!

  1. Hey, Beth!!!!! Glad to hear you went out, headscarf and all. I got used to it, and it seemed that people didn't even notice. I didn't like wearing them, but I didn't want people to trip over their shopping carts as they stared at a bald head. Just keep looking forward to the day when you whip that thing off for good as you see your hair starting to grow back!

I hated all that bloodwork. I began to feel like a pincushion!

  5. Good for you, getting out. I'm so self conscious that simply doing just that was a big hurtle for me. I am still getting used to going out with my short hair. Yesterday a woman asked me why I would cut my hair like that...

  6. You left a comment on my blog wondering why I don't get a port ... well ... in April, I had a CVC - central line that got infected. The hole left behind is not healing because I am on chemo. The port needs to go where the CVC was, so until it heals, I only have the PICC line.

    Hope you are doing O.K.

  7. Hi Beth, glad you had a nice lunch with pals! I remember my first weeks without hair, I thought everyone was looking but now I just go out and I dont care. I wear turbans and even my oncologist told me I looked glamorous!!!!!! Can't wait for my hair to grow back though :0(
